“If you want motivation and excitement everyday”

Peter Hviid
Business Developer

Cand. merc. Marketing

My job
My overall focus is to reduce costs and increase sales with different initiatives, whether its projects running internal or externally. Projects are based on business cases and include a wide variety of different topics such as product development, maintaining new and existing partnerships, process optimization internally etc.

started at If April 2018 as a student assistant and after finishing my education I moved to a full-time position as a business developer in our product and price business unit pr. July 2019.

Working at If is great
My position allows me to be involved in many different projects, which makes daily operation exciting, but at the same time challenging. Furthermore, I enjoy working across the organization and interacting with different stakeholders/departments as it gives a great understanding of the overall business. Over time this understanding of the organization has grown and now allows me to now see opportunities, which I was not previously aware of.  At last, I would like to highlight my colleagues, as they play an important role for the success of my position and has been a support ever since I started this role.

I have a good understanding of how the business is run and what value each department gives to the organization. This allows me to be able to prioritize projects and continue driving projects I know will benefit If the most and set aside the ones with smaller positive impact.

How is to work in If?
Honestly, the thing that has surprised me the most after starting at If, is how motivated and excited I am to walk into work. This motivation and excitement stems from different variables, but the fact that I work so cross-functional, is a factor which brings motivation and excitement for me.

My advice to you
Find a student job within an organization, where you can see yourself grow. The fact that the recruited who hired me, focused of course on my current abilities, but also how I could grow. It motivated me to do more as a student assistant, which has benefitted me to the position I am currently holding.
